Originally a small engine shop established at Virginia International Raceway in 2016 as the passion project of Peter Partee, a former Big Law attorney and well-known E39 M5 enthusiast, Partee Racing is now a plenary motorsport facility with a complete machine shop with multiple CNC machining centers, a truly state of the art engine assembly room with HEPA air filtration, a Superflow engine dyno with the latest electronics and Motec controls, a Dynojet 424XLC with eddy current control, seven Rotary 10k lifts, and on-site carbon fiber and billet part production.
Our principal lines of business are:
• BMW performance and race engine building, focusing on but not limited to the S62, S65, S85 and S54 engines
• Engine removal and installation
• Whole car renovation/restoration, specializing in the E39 M5, E46 M3, E60 M5, and E9X M3
• On site engine and dyno tuning, and remote dyno tuning, in each case by our full-time in-house tuner, Matt Lambert, formerly of Cedar Performance, with perhaps a bit of input from Peter Partee on occasion
• Custom carbon fiber and billet part manufacturing for the car models in which we specialize
• Dry ice blasting
• Custom suspension installation, specializing in Motion Control Suspension components
We do NOT do general service work. Although very profitable, general service work would distract from the team’s ability to focus on our principal business lines.
Partee Racing’s focus is on realizing customers’ visions for their cars, as if the cars were Peter Partee’s personal car. The goal is the customer’s satisfaction, and no car rolls out the door unless Peter himself, an exacting BMW enthusiast, approves the work. Customers are not dollar signs and mere opportunities for profit, but rather, friendships to be forged and partnerships to be formed with the goal of making the customers’ cars what they want. And the team at Partee Racing achieves this goal, with the result that many of our customers are repeat visitors with multiple cars. Our facility is always open for visits from customers, potential customers, and interested enthusiasts alike. When customers call, Peter Partee himself may answer the phone, and if not, an email will be met with his personal cell number and conversations will ensue that only a crazy BMW enthusiast can appreciate.
