2016 BMW M3 Tune Gains:
A 2016 BMW M3 Tune is something we are asked for virtually every day. Cedar Performance has been making 750+ whp on the s55 platform since 2017. As soon as we got our hands on a built engine, the 1000 WHP achievement was unlocked in 2019. Since then, Cedar Performance's Senior Powertrain Calibrations Engineer Utku Noa has been hard at work developing what is arguably the most complete, stock like, and accurate calibrations on the market. We've got levels of software for any modifications you may throw at the motor.
- Stage 1 91: up to 20% HP / 22% TQ
- Stage 1 93: up to 22% HP / 23% TQ
- Stage 2 91: up to 23% HP / 26% TQ
- Stage 2 93: up to 24% HP / 26% TQ
- Stage 2 E30: up to 26% HP / 26% TQÂ
- Stage 2 Racegas: up to 40% HP / 30% TQ
- Stage 2 Full E85: up to 40% HP / 30% TQ
- Stage 3 Gasoline: up to 55% HP / 40% TQ *
- Stage 3 Ethanol: up to 80% HP / 55% TQ *
- Stage 4 Built Engine on Ethanol: up to 135% HP / 80% TQ *
*Stage 3 and 4 Tunes require upgraded turbos.
How do I get my 2016 BMW M3 Tune?

What do I need to tune my 2016 BMW M3?
At Cedar Performance, we are capable of tuning for whatever modifications you may have. Some clients are bone stock and looking to make the most of race gas. Other clients have built engines, upgraded hybrid turbos, upgraded single turbos with mac solenoids, etc. Ultimately, Cedar Performance will sort out the calibration. We work inside or outside of all tuning platforms, provided they do not limit us from editing the tables we desire.
Will my 2016 BMW M3 Tune have Map Switching?
Provided you have a
Bootmod3/
MHD License and your ROM is supported, Cedar Performance is happy to calibrate multiple maps for use with the on-the-fly map switching logic. Generally speaking, Map Switching is used for things such as:
- High/Low Boost Settings
- Antilag/Burble Adjustments
- Flex Fuel Enabled/Disabled
- Octane Adjustments (Pump vs Race Gas, E85 vs C85)
Will my 2016 BMW M3 Tune support Flex Fuel?
If the vehicle is equipped with a Flex Fuel Sensor and Analyzer such as the one offered by the
Bootmod3 Team, Cedar Performance can utilize this hardware in combination with Bootmod3 or MHD's Custom Rom to develop true and proper Flex Fuel Control as seen in the graphic below. These flex fuel calibrations are full and complete torque scaling calibrations. Our calibrations have 100% proper utilization of fuel, ignition, and torque factoring tables to give consistent yet maximized performance for all contents of ethanol. Details discussed below.
This sheet shows the results from a tuning session on a BMW running a Cedar Performance Forged S55 Engine and Pure Stage 2+ Turbos, Evolution of Speed Port Injection Manifold, with a MOTIV Reflex+ Controller.
No software edits are made between the runs. The only changes that are made are to the ethanol content in the gas tank. Additionally, all data is collected on the same day.
First, the red line shows 684 WHP on 40% Ethanol. Jumping up to E50, we tuned the vehicle to 735 WHP.
Next, on E60 we calibrated for 780 WHP, and on E70 we made 805 WHP.
Lastly, on 85% ethanol, this vehicle puts down 825 WHP.
These values are not simply "what she made." These values areÂ
what we told her to make, and because the calibration is true, she does.
What about a 2016 BMW M3 Antilag?
This is no problem. Again, inside of the Bootmod3, MHD, and Ecutek platforms, these features are no problem to implement.
Antilag can create as much as 26 PSI during activation, giving you full torque immediately upon launch, during a roll.
Additionally, antilag can be manipulated and controlled to be great for pre-boosting in the corners in a circuit race.
