When you purchase an engine build from Partee Racing, what you are getting is a "longblock": an assembled shortblock with cylinder heads and valve covers, vanos, all pans and covers, and all necessary tensioners, chains, guides, and pumps. But this is very long way from a "ready to install" engine. Pulleys, belts, hoses, throttle bodies, fuel injectors, fuel rails, cooling rails, throttle body motors, engine electrical harness, power steering pumps, air conditioning compressors, engine brackets, plenums, air/oil separators, vanos accumulators, etc. all still need to be installed on the engine prior to installation. Many enthusiasts WANT to dress the motors themselves to feel like a full participant in the engine build, but others prefer to have it done for them. Full dressing of any engine generally takes a solid day's worth of work, so we charge accordingly for this. NB: Engine dressing is INCLUDED in the cost of engine removal and reinstallation, so if you choose to drop your car off our our Danville shop to have our team install your wicked cool new Partee Racing engine, full engine dressing is included and NOT an additional charge in that circumstance.
